Irinotecan is used to treat cancer of the colon and rectum. It is also used for some types of small cell lung cancer.

Anastrozole is used to treat breast cancer in women after menopause. Some breast cancers are made to grow faster by a natural hormone called estrogen. Anastrozole decreases the amount of estrogen the body makes and helps to slow or reverse the growth of these cancers.

Pioglitazone is a diabetes drug (thiazolidinedione-type, also called “glitazones”) used, along with a proper diet and exercise program, to control high blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. It works by helping restore the body’s proper response to insulin, thereby lowering blood sugar.

Alendronate is used to prevent and treat osteoporosis (bone loss)
in adults. Osteoporosis causes bones to become thinner and break more easily. The chance of developing osteoporosis increases with age, after menopause, or after long periods of taking corticosteroid medications. This medication works by slowing bone loss.

Irbesartan is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and to help protect the kidneys from damage due to diabetes. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Irbesartan is in a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) and works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood flows more easily.
